FISHING REPORT FRIDAY 18/12/09

ESTUARY – Good whiting around chambers island. Bream and jacks at night on live bait out of the cod hole. Trevally on surface lures around mooloolaba wharf. Few bream early on plastics inside mooloolah river mouth.

OFFSHORE – Spotty and Spanish mackerel around inner gneerings. parrot, snapper and cod from the barwon banks early in the week. Small tuna and school macks off point cartwright. I just spoke to nick from Top Catch Charters and he is out at the banks this morning. They caught a nice 7kg wahoo on the way out and the crew are into some good catches of pearl perch to 2kg and some amberjack are starting to hit the deck as we speak. FRESHWATER – Borumba dam has been fishing well for bass and saratoga on lucky craft sammys and shallow diving minnows around green island and in toga bay. The sticks have also been producing the odd bass.

FISHING REPORT DEC 11

ESTUARY –   Mangrove jacks in bli bli stretch.  Flathead, Jacks and Trevally around Marrochy motor bridge. Bream and Whiting inside river mouths.

BEACH – Good size Whiting, Bream, and Dart up the noosa north shore teewah and below the best results

OFFSHORE – Its been windy again this week but last weekend and early this week there were good reports of spottie mackerel and school mackerel around inner gneerings, sunshine reef and inside north reef. Lots of bait out there too.

Mahi Mahi off the fad on friday.

Mooloolaba 8 mile there were Black Marlin, Sailfish and Wahoo caught.

The banks produced good catches of Red Throat Emperor, Sweetlip and Snapper to 4 kg

FRESHWATER – Borumba is producing Bass and Saratoga on poppers and shallow diving minnows around the timber.

Lake Mac Donald is producing Bass around the strawberry patch.

Lake monduran is firing at the moment with good numbers and good size Barra being caught mainly in the main basin.

There also getting them on hollowbellys around weed edges.

Sometimes if you wonder where your money goes when you buy your fishing licence and tick the monduran box. this is where it goes. these photos were supplied buy Dave Brace and he is a member of the Monduran Anglers and Stocking Association. MASA . Dave and other members are involved in keeping the stock levels of our favourite freshwater species in lake Monduran alive. In October and November this year they released 152000 healthy bass and 130000 healthy barra fingerlings into the dam. Awsome stuff keep up the good work.

FISHING REPORT FRIDAY DECEMBER 4

ESTUARY — Good Flathead and Whiting on the inside of Marrochy and Mooloolah river mouths. worms for the whiting and drifted baits better for the bigger flatties.

Mangrove Jacks  and odd smaller Jew in the cod hole.

Few Trevally taking poppers early morning around the Marrochy Bridge.

Mangrove Jacks in Petrie creek and a couple caught at the mouth of Coolum creek.

Currimundi lake producing Whiting.

Mangrove jacks along Tewantin stretch to 53cm and Whiting at the river mouth of Noosa River.

OFFSHORE - It’s been too windy for any decent offshore reports but the weather looks good for the weekend.

SAT REPORT – NE WINDS 5 / 15 KNOTS  SEAS LESS THAN 1M

SUN REPORT – N/NE WINDS 10/15 SEAS LESS THAN 1M

Better than the last week anyway. Good luck if you get out there.
