FISHING REPORT FRIDAY JULY 23RD

ESTUARY –  Bream and trevally at the mouth of mooloolah river. tailor and trevally at the mouth of marrochy river. school jew around bli bli bridge. blackfish at the mouth off the rock wall at noosa. whiting and bream on low tide in the gutters on the beaches and tailor are coming through those deeper gutters on the in coming tide.

OFFSHORE – Not much this week as the weather has been windy. currimundi reef has produced sweetlip and parrot. the banks snapper to 6kg, red throat and pearl perch.  nth reef theres been cobia, sweetlip and snapper. there has been some tuna action in the bay too on small slugs.

FRESHWATER – Monday a bloke came in and said his mate got 60 bass at somerset. there all schooled up and easy to catch.

FISHING REPORT FRIDAY 16TH JULY

ESTUARY – Jew on the north shore to 17kg.  Lots of smaller flathead over the weekend in mooloolah. Trevally and chopper tailor at the river mouths. Bream in the deeper holes of maroochy river. Bream and flathead in petrie crk.

OFFSHORE – Inner gneerings and murphys produced sweetlip, parrot, pearl perch and squire snapper. Snapper, pearl perch and parrot out on caloundra 9 mile. Snapper at caloundra 12 mile. Cobia, pearl perch out on the banks. Amberjack wide caloundra

FISHING REPORT FRIDAY 9TH JULY

ESTUARY – Lots of bream and flathead have been the main talk of local anglers this week. some good size bream up to 39cm have been taken in the maroochy river this week. The passage also producing fish in the deeper holes on soft plastics and some good flatties in those deeper holes on drifted baits. small school jew on 4” pumpkinseed plastics in the cod hole and motorway bridge.  Small chopper tailor and trevally early morning at the mouth of mooloolah river. few jacks and flathead around bli bli bridge. lots jew in the gutters up noosa north shore. more than the barge owner has ever seen he reckons. good signs to come

OFFSHORE – Bit hit and miss this week.  a few fishos bagged out on snapper to 6kg at caloundra 12 mile. Snapper out on caloundra wide. pearl perch and red throat on the banks. sweetlip and pearlies on murphys. weather has turned to wind and windy this weekend but sunday afternoon looks like its dropping off but there will be a bit of swell. monday and tuesday looking good.

also, im thinking of organising a jigging trip in the near future for those who want to tackle some amberjack and kings. im trying to get some numbers if anyone is interested give me a call a work 5444 8618.  full day trip with max of 6 people so its not crowded.  cheers

FISHING REPORT FRIDAY 2ND JULY

ESTUARY – Flathead seem to be wide spread through the rivers this week. Trolling small minnows along sand banks and drop offs are your best bet. micro mullets and cultiva rip’n minnows working the best. tailor off the rocks at pt cartwright. trevally and queenfish in pelican waters. bream on plastics around mooloolabah wharf.  nice size estuary cod believe it or not in the cod hole and also producing small jew at night. good trevally and tailor between chambers island to the cod hole.

OFFSHORE – Squire, parrot, grassy sweetlip, pearl perch at murphys, inner gneerings and caloundra 5 mile. still a few tuna hanging around in the bay just behind the breakers. Snapper, red throat emperor, pearl perch, parrot out on the banks. bigger fish out wider again in the deeper water.  pearl perch, sweetlip and coral trout on sunshine reef on wednesday.

weather not looking the best this weekend for offshore fishing with a s/se 20-30 knot forcast
